The three of you race across to shelter under the porch, as though an unseen hand is pushing all of you towards the derelict house.

You three catch your breath, huddling under the porch. It looks like it could fall down at any minute. Water leaks through in places, splashing onto the old tiled steps.

"It's all your fault!" Charmaine accuses Kwan.

"It's not!" He ducks aside as a stream of water suddenly pours through another hole in the roof.

"At least we have some cover here," you begin, the peacemaker again!

Another roll of thunder echos around the clearing. You wonder if it's your imagination or if the sky had gotten darker.

"I wonder who lived here?" Kwan asks.

"Who cares?" Charmaine trembles. "I want to go home, Leng!"

"Shhhh!" Kwan's eyes are wide. "What was that?"

"What was what?" you shake your head. "I didn't hear anything."

"Stop scaring me!" Charmaine begs.

"Listen!" Kwan leans towards the wooden door. "Inside..."

Charmaine grips your arm and you hug her.

"Just the rain," you tell Kwan.

"No," he insists. "It was-"

It is a creaking sound. You all hear it. Like ancient timber, being dragged by something. A groaning, weary kind of noise.

The old front door.

It is moving.

Very slowly.

It is starting to open...
