You have walked at least another kilometer, and your feet are killing you. The forest is starting to thin out,and sunlight is shining through. It should be more cheerful, but somehow it's the opposite. You haven't heard a bird call in awhile, and suddenly you notice that the vegetation is more sickly than before. The elder isn't muttering anymore, just walking determinedly, thumping their stick into the hardening earth. You:
