You tuck your old-but-good dagger into your tunic pocket, then you grab your spellbook and bash the bouncing balls out of the air. They bounce even harder at first, but you keep it up until all the bounce runs out of them and they fall apart.

Unfortunately, your spellbook is now too battered to be of much use to you.

Do you:

• Head out to the used-spellbook store
• Cast a spellbook-restoration spell
• Eat your battered book
