"Honey? Are you sure?" he responds with a crooked brow.

You blush, and instantly regret using that. Come to think of it, you do look an awful lot like an elf now, and that name clearly isn't elvish. "N-no, I... sorry. That's just what Mom calls me. The orc scared me so much, that I couldn't help but think of her."

He laughs. "Yeah. I often think of my mother when I'm scared too."

Good, he's distracted, now you can come up with something else.
