The Grand Arena
Entering the temple at their starting area for team 3 was Laura, Rikku, Cara, Bonny, and Kasumi. As soon as they arrived they looked around their starting room. It was designed quite strangely to them. There were four holes in the middle of the room with chains coming out of them attached to a lever system on the ceiling. Looking down the holes didn't reveal anything, but a person could easily fit down them. In the middle of the four square holes was a strange pedestal with a glowing blue sphere in the middle of it. There was also a hallway on one of the four walls which after not long at all turned left to where you couldn't see down it any distance.
The girls took a step into the room curiously, none of them particurally afraid. Bonny and Kasumi had confident expressions, that had been in demanding challenges before. Rikku had a curious expression, she had been on plenty of adventures and was excited for this one. Laura and Cara were a little bit more cautious, peering down the holes and looking at the chains.
Finally though Cara stepped up to the pedestal and activated it. It identifies itself as a challenge terminal and suddenly lights up.
"This is a challenge terminal. By pressing the buttons on a challenge terminal you are deciding you want to compete in a challenge. Challenge terminals each have a designated reward attatched to them that you will recieve after winning the challenge. To start a challange, the right amount of players must press a side button to designate they are ready. Each challange includes different amount of players designated by the amount of buttons. This challenge has one button so it is a single player challenge."
Everyone was listening at this point, though Kasumi stayed over by the hallway just incase anyone walked in. "This challenge in particular will activate the four chains in the room for a possible advantage for the remaining four players. The player doing the challenge will be taken away and placed elsewhere in the temple after completing or failing the challenge."
Everyone looked around in shock at that. It was a challenge that sacrificed one player for the team. But it wasn't a particular bad sacrifice. Ending up at another place in the dungeon wasn't exactly a bad thing. Bonny just grinned. "Anyone want to volunteer?"
Cara laughed at that. "Ha, no way i'm doing that."
Rikku bent down looking down one of the holes. "I wonder what is down there." She put a finger up to her lips in thought. "It is probably something good. But then again, it could be something bad." She frowned at that. She then looked up at the challenge. "I'll do the challenge if you want!"
Laura shook her head. "Maybe we should check down the hallway before we decide?"
Looking down the hallway a bit Kasumi shrugged. "We could try that. Though there is no garuntee we can come back. We might want to try this first. Or just ignore it and go for the hallway."
"I suppose you have a point." Laura said musing it over. "I'm probably the weakest on the team. I can do the challenge and give ya'll the best shot with whatever comes up the chains."
"We can't let you do that!" Cara said, looking over at her. "You're not the weakest." She was trying to be nice, but it was probably true.
Bonny just grinned. "I'm game for you going."
Stretching over by the hallway, Kasumi addressed the group after the small talk. "So, what is it going to be?"
