Correct, gogglehead. Shakkoumon's designs, surprisingly inconspicuous to many, were based off the Shakōkidogū, a kind of doğu, a humanoid or animal figurine made out of clay. Their purpose was never confirmed, but are theorized that they might have acted as effigies of people, cleansing illness and misfortune and such. This is referenced in Shakkoumon's ability to absorb attacks in its tiny 'mouth'.
