Closing the port

Within fifteen minutes, the captain's order of closing the port is already being carried out. Watchmen are guarding the docks, preventing anyone from boarding a ship. War galleons belonging to the Watch are positioning themselves around the only exit of the Sartosan bay. On the shore, cannons are being put into place, ready to shoot and sink any ship that attempts to leave. No explanation is given.

Half an hour after the start of the operation, the Pirate Princess angrily demands to know what is happening and why she has been kept in the dark about a potential threat to the city. About the same time, Nikola von Carstein's black ship, the Drakenhof, somehow manages to leave the bay, sinking two of the Watch's galleons in the process. A pursuit is launched, but the ship quickly disappears.

Shortly later, nine barrels of warpstone explode in the sewers under the city, causing great damage to many buildings at the surface (including the Pirate Princess' palace). A green fog of warpstone gas fills the streets.

By the time the sun rises, Sartosa is a dead city.
