Sneak by behind

Moving as silently as a cat, you approach the small shack from behind. There are no windows, so it should not be too difficult to stay hidden from anyone inside. You do not hear any sound, but there appears to be light sifting through the gaps between the planks. Tiptoeing around the miserable excuse for a house, you align your eyes with one of those gaps and risk a glance inside.
The last thing you see is the broad muzzle of a blunderbuss aimed straight at your face. The last thing you hear is a detonation. The last thing you feel is your face blowing up.
