Try to sneak out the door

After what you've seen, you want to give this guy as wide a berth as possible, so you try to sneak past him.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work. You get about half way to the door, but he looks up and turns at an inopportune time and sees you. He frowns.
"Melissa. What are you doing here?"
"Erm.. I was just exploring. I hope I'm not intruding on anything."
He looks at you suspiciously. "Then why are you poking around? What are you hoping to find? Did doctor Mecer send you?" He goes to another table and starts rummaging around.
"I've never heard of a Doctor Mecer. I was just curious. Just looking around for my own sake. I'm sorry to have bothered you. I'll leave now."
He pulls out a syringe and starts putting a yellowish chemical in it. "If you're here innocently, then why are you afraid?"
