You breath in and out.

I should've brought a weapon.

You stand up and leave the safety of the bushes. The werewolf is still drinking water, her pink tongue lapping away at the stream. It's nothing but pebbles and dirt between you and the creature.

As you take several small steps forward, the wolf pauses.

She tenses up and raises her head from the water, sniffing the air. The twitch on her ears signals to you that you really should've brought a weapon.

The wolf turns and your eyes meet. She snarls and crouches, advancing towards you. You start backing up.

You hold up a hand. "Wait! I'm not here to hurt you."

"You should be more concerned about yourself." Her voice is deep and gravelly. "Awful brave of you to take me on."

"I just want to talk. I can help you."

"No, you want to claim me. Just like those humans." Her eyes narrow and she growls.

"Alright, yes. But you're not the only one who's desperate here!" You point to your balls and the wolf laughs.

"I'm more than familiar with your biology."

"Please, we can help each other!"

"Really? I'm leaking more blood than my heat cycle right now, and I've got a dozen more hunters combing for me nearby. What can you do?"
