STOP A PASSERBY AND ASK FOR DIRECTIONS
From Create Your Own Story
You figure that you could easily stop someone and ask where the nearest hospital, police station or pay phone is. Those places seemed like the only reasonable options at this point. You see a man in a suit walk past you. "Excuse me, sir." You are startled by your own voice. He ignores you. You lack the energy to go after him. You see an elderly woman walking a dog. "Excuse me, ma'am." She ignores you as well. You see a person who looks like a college student. "Excuse me." The student says they have no money. Startled again, you let them pass by. Everyone thinks you are a bum! You see a tall woman walking past. "Ma'am, please I need help." She stops for a second and checks her purse for loose change. "No, I don't want money." She looks up at you with confusion. "Please, I lost my memory and I need to know where the nearest hospital or police station is." You are proud that you have remained calm and soft-spoken. She looks you up and down. "My God, what happened?" You ignore the dumb question and look at her with pleading eyes. "I only work in this part of town, but I think I saw a cop car about two blocks back, maybe you could ask him." You wonder if that is the best option.
