"Get me the Rockzooka," you say.
<System: Selection confirmed. Recall device activated. > The green outline of the Rockzooka appears on your robot. The enemy machine takes a sudden step back in surprise, probably not expecting you to literally pull a weapon out of your ass. A flash later and the weapon has materialized. A thick, long barrel stretches down the length of your machine's arm, held on firmly by straps. You can see a thick hose running out the back of the bazooka and attached to a pack that now rests on your back. A second cable comes from the top of the gun, connected to the side of your robot and directly into a power source. Your opponent suddenly takes off, dashing to the side across the battlefield and aiming one of his arms at you. The hand on that arm suddenly drops down, revealing a hidden machine gun barrel. You follow him by turning your robot while moving to the side. Your targetting system moves the arm for you as it tries to lock on. Bullets kick up earth around your robot's feet and ping off your shield as your opponent's wild firing manages to score some hits. <System: Shield strength reduced to 95%. Target lock. > You pull the trigger. Your entire machine is pushed back a few feet as an explosive force propels a shotgun-like blast of large rocks out the end of the bazooka. Despite your opponent's attempts at avoiding your attack the sheer spread and size of the rocks cause a good chunk of them to connect with his shield. The ones that hit also explode, having small bombs embedded in them and the force of the hit coupled with the explosions strike with such force that it throws him backward into the wall. <System: Opponent has taken light damage. > Your opponent is forced to take a knee but quickly recovers as you reset the firing mechanism on the Rockzooka for a second shot. A small graphic appears on your HUD showing rocks being channeled down the tube from the pack into the end of the gun. Bullets ping off your shield as the opponent starts moving again, and just as your weapon is ready to fire... there's a flash, and it vanishes. <System: Warning. Recall device malfunction. Opponent jamming device is also interrupting the link between recall device and pocket dimension. Weapons may only get off one or two shots before the malfunction happens. Weapons shunted back due to malfunction may also become unavailable as Rockzooka transponder is no longer transmitting a signal. Assumption that this may happen for every weapon. > "Damnit!" you shout at the screen, initiating evasive maneuvers to try and keep the bullets from taking apart your shield. <System: Warning. Energy reserves down 25%. > You think to what you have in your inventory, trying to decide what weapons would be most helpful now. <System: Shields down to 75%. Recommend immediate counter-attack. > "No, really!? I was just going to let him win!" you say sarcastically to the AI. | ||||
