"Sly here, hope you all enjoyed my little history lesson from earlier. During the commerical I relocated from our tower down to the observation platform floating above the arena and I have to say... some of the things I'm seeing down there are makin' me wanna get a change of pants. But enough about me. I know you're all listening because you want me to give you the low down on this year's competition. So here goes!"
Sly took a moment to mute the microphone and gather his notes together. In what was essentially a floating glass box he could see large, towering bipedal machines marching their way into the stadium's entrances. He wasn't kidding about maybe needing a change of pants.
"Sorry about that. Alright. The annual Mad Science Showdown begins today, in 1 hour. Year one, and the theme? Big freakin' robots. Yeah, you heard me. Giant robots. The mayor thought that one up. From all the advertisements all over the billboards, I can certainly see why. The more people tuning in, the more advertisers he can get. So start things off with a bang and hopefully throw all those excess funds into speeding up reconstruction. Who doesn't love giant robots? I mean, seriously? You must be mental if you don't!" Sly says, letting out a chuckle, then flipping to the next page of notes.
"We have a number of well-knowns, and several more unknowns coming out this year. The names of some of these people are just... Wow. Why would you parents name you that? I wish I could list them all off but I don't have the time. I'll just have to stick to the well known favourites."
