You can see your roommate's head and shoulders. Her eye are closed and her breathing is regular. She looks like she will be asleep for a while longer. You get out of bed, grab some soap and a washcloth, and head down the hall to the showers. You don't take your room key; you settle for leaving the door ajar. The showers aren't very far away from your room, and you really don't need a towel for the short trip between the two.
After a long, hot shower, you head back to your room. You reach for the knob, but it doesn't open. Your roommate must have come and gone, thought you were dressed, left, and locked the door behind her.
Now, you're locked out of your room, naked, carrying only a washcloth that won't cover anything.
