"Yes," you say. "What's up?"
"Nothing. Sorry to have bothered you."
"Come one, what's up? It didn't sound like there was nothing."
"Forget it, Jules. It's nothing. Sleep."
You close your eyes again. If Cate doesn't want to talk, there isn't much use in trying to persuade her. You have seldomly been able to do it. Albeit, about half an hour later, your sister once more calls your name. And again, when you respond, she tells you to 'forget it'.
