So, the vocabulary we have learned from each page:

中國短篇小說:

  • 中(Zhōng) = Middle, center, in
  • 國(guó) = Country, Nation
  • 中(Zhōng)國(guó) = China (PRC, not ROC)
  • 短(duǎn) = Short, brief
  • 篇(piān) = piece
  • 短(duǎn)篇(piān) = short piece
  • 小(xiǎo) = Small
  • 說(shuō) = Say, speak
  • 小(xiǎo)說(shuō) = Story
  • 短(duǎn)篇(piān)小(xiǎo)說(shuō) = Short Story
  • 中(Zhōng)國(guó)短(duǎn)篇(piān)小(xiǎo)說(shuō) = Chinese short stories
  • 不(bù) = No, not
  • 嗎(ma) = Turns the sentence into a question

Story Begin:

  • 我(wǒ) = I, me
  • 是(shì) = Be verb (is, am, are, was, were, will be)
  • 男(nán) = Male
  • 女(nǚ) = Female
  • 人(rén) = Person
  • 男(nán)人(rén) = Male person
  • 女(nǚ)人(rén) = Female person

我是男人/我是女人:

  • 你（nǐ) = You
  • 好(hǎo) = Good
  • 不(bù)好(hǎo) = Not good

我是好(男)/我是好(女):

  • 今(jīn) = Today, but cannot be used by itself
  • 天(tiān) = Day
  • 今(jīn)天(tiān) = Today
  • 你(nǐ)好(hǎo) = Hello
