sysop

Hi Fruitbat,

You have been a great user on the system and I have given you sysop rights. This means that you can block users that are vandals on the system. If you would like to look up a user's IP address go to the Control Panel and use the tool there. Then go to special pages to go to the block IP form. Please use this feature sparingly. Blocks should only be used for users that are trying to destroy the site and not to censor content.

Thanks,

  • Sometimes after you submit it takes you to an "create a wiki page". That is just a problem with the redirect and the block did work.
  • Platypus is another user that I granted rights on
  • I have already blocked Gaius
  • All the 111 pages are disappearing as I delete them. That's why their links are turning red. But there's a lot of them and some still need their content moved back to the pages where they were before C. Mitch attacked the site. --Platypus 08:42, 26 February 2007 (EST)
  • There doesn't seem to be any point in banning him since he attacked once and hasn't been seen since. --Platypus 08:44, 26 February 2007 (EST)
  • I certainly won't object to having him blocked. --Platypus 10:03, 26 February 2007 (EST)
  • Thanks, but I've almost got them all. --Platypus 11:39, 26 February 2007 (EST)
  • 'Delete' should be one of the tabs, like 'edit', 'history', and 'protect'.
  • Do you have a feeling that Decimus Callilaus (or whatever his name is) was actually Gauis Fleminus and managed to change his IP address or something?

Yes, the Roman name and the censorship thing do seem to indicate that they're either the same jerk or jerks who are part of the same organization of vandals. At least I was able to cut this one off in the middle of his attack.

  • I think there must be a group of Roman Empire jerks with nothing better to do than attack wikis. --Platypus 19:10, 6 March 2007 (EST)
  • Yes, it's a very good thing we have blocking powers or we wouldn't have a site anymore! --Platypus 20:59, 6 March 2007 (EST)

What is that 70. whatever user doing? He's filling up the entire page with stories he hasen't even started!? *That's a good question. I left talk for him, but I think I'm going to take his unstarted stories off the Main Page. When he does show up, he does very little other than make minor, pointless edits. --Platypus 09:21, 9 March 2007 (EST)

  • Good spotting. I missed that the 70. user moved Treguard from Adult to Normal. I'll move it back where it belongs. --Platypus 16:39, 9 March 2007 (EST)

You're right that categories aren't needed for stories with unique status bars, but I like how having a category for each story creates an alphabetical index for that story. --Platypus 16:37, 23 March 2007 (EST)

I agree with Platypus on that one. While they aren't really "needed" for anything, I like the advantages that they provide. Also, if you're only worried about the amount of work it will take, don't worry, because that's not an issue for me. — LastUserNameEver 14:13, 26 March 2007 (EST)
