:I guessed as much, thanks. No special rules or restrictions, then. By the way, is there any freely available wiki tool to mind map / tree graph a set of pages such as this? Just interested in getting a rough sense of where the major story branches go (essentially which characters or chain of characters have gotten the most attention)? - | I have a question about the demons powers. Since the demon is from hell, and hell as most people imagine is full of fire. Would the demon have a much higher resistance & tolerance than a typical human to being burned?--[[User:Yihman1|Yihman1]] 23:38, 22 January 2012 (UTC) | + | I have a question about the demons powers. Revision as of 23:40, 22 January 2012
Are we allowed to create alternate starting points for characters? I recently wrote a few pages to the 6th Grade Boy storyline starting from Thrust into the punkette's tight asshole and ending where the boy is choking the punk chick. Since there is already a previous start for possessing the punk chick that doesn't correlate to my new storyline, I would just like to know if it was allowed. --DeadFishV 01:10, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
I would think we are allowed to do that. When I first started looking at Rampage the only entry point for Valerie's Father was after he was already engaged in sex with her in his office. I added a line where the cat took a nap on the car and woke up when he got home. --Yihman1 July 19 2011
Now I my question is how do we do it? Do we just use an alternate possession line (i.e. "Possess..." rather than the already used "Shift spirit into...:) or put (alternate starting point) inside the choice brackets? --DeadFishV 01:28, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
I would prefer alternate phrasing, rather than putting (alternate starting point) as part of the page title. --Platypus 01:31, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
Alright I got a question. Does your knowledge stack? For example if you have possessed a doctor, a car mechanic, and a black belt before moving your body into a 10 year old kid would you keep all your knowledge of human health, car mechanics, and fighting as that 10 year old child?--Yihman1 03:17, 28 August 2011 (UTC)
You would probably only retain knowledge from any particular host for a limited time after moving on. Otherwise, you'd have an unlimited amount of knowledge skills to call upon. --Platypus 06:29, 28 August 2011 (UTC)
You already have theoretically unlimited power as is. If say our protagonist was surrounded by 10 men with machine guns ready to kill him. Simply shift from gunner to gunner killing them all. Immortal basically. Perhaps it should be the longer amount of time spent in a body the more information is absorbed from it. They say the human brain only uses 10% of its capacity. So in theory you could have 10 other people's knowledge all in one head.--Yihman1 16:25, 28 August 2011 (UTC)
The 10% capacity thing is an urban legend. We do use 100% of our brains, just not all at any one given moment. But given that a demonic spirit is supernatural, science and real-world restrictions don't necessarily apply to it. I would say that the longer you stay with a host and the more use you make of that host's knowledge, the longer you retain that knowledge after moving on.
As a spirit, and a servant of Hell, this character is indeed immortal. But causing too much chaos, such as mass shootings, would likely draw the attention of angelic spirits with similar powers. Your demonic superiors would probably be annoyed with you if your actions cause Heaven to look into what you and your fellow demons have been up to. --Platypus 17:50, 28 August 2011 (UTC)
- I didn't realize that this spirit was necessarily a demon in that sense. Good to know. --KC Riley 05:25, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
What day of the week is the starting day? What month is it? What is a general location for the start of the story like for example what state?
The fact that there are parties in the evening in some lines yet school during the day leads me to believe it could only be a Friday, but this info is never given directly. As far as location & what month it is that much is difficult to figure out. It could be useful in the story line. This will effect what people are wearing. This will effect things if a Holiday is drawing near such as Halloween.--Yihman1 13:39, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
Other than shifting from body to body, and animating the inanimate (such as vines or a computer) and Increased strength can we add other demonic powers to the arsenal? Such as mind control?--Yihman1 07:16, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
Possession should be the character's main power. The character's ability to animate the inanimate is part of that possession ability and the demonic strength is merely enhancing that which is possessed. So I don't think this demon should exhibit mind control powers. --Platypus 15:15, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
- The only other power (or limitation really) I've found so far is that you should not allow the player to possess blessed characters, or to display super-human strength within a church. In other words, the daemon seems to be of the Christian faith. Anedwcan 15:53, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
What about demon semen? Once you cum in a person they can be mentally controlled? After all part of you is now in them--Yihman1 17:21, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
I think I'd prefer to see the story stick with possession. Unless the character happens to acquire some sort of demonic artifact that grants him additional abilities. --Platypus 21:10, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
story map / choke points?
In "Smutty" there are at least five "levels" allowing you to write up a sequence that still returns to the main storyline. Is there any way in Rampage to accomplish the same (and avoid leaving your storyline with all-red choices)?
In other words, are there certain characters you do "first", others "second" and still others even later. Even a very short listing would help me understand where I can take a particular story "back" to existing choices.
Or would it be fine to re-connect to any random character (potentially creating difficult-to-detect story loops)? Is that even wrong (loops, that is)?
Any input appreciated.
Anedwcan 15:51, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
Currently, there is no structure of that nature in Rampage, and it might be difficult to impose one after this many pages have already been written. Most of the branches simply diverge without any potential convergence points. --Platypus 20:10, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
