Your unflinching walk unnerves the guard : "I told you to---" BANG!
The guard abruptly drops dead. One of your men reaches the top of the stairs, his pistol smoking, and grins at you.
"Good job, Diego," you congratulate him.
Followed by your men, you march Edward out of the jail. The guards keep a safe distance but continue to follow you. Right now you are standing in the open, but Drakesport's winding backstreets are not far.
"Here's what we're going to do," you say in a low voice. "As soon as we reach the backstreets, we all take different directions and run as fast as we can to the harbor. We meet at Midnight."
"I'm pretty sure it's well past midnight," replies Edward.
"Midnight is the name of my ship."
"...Oh, I see."
"Ready?" you murmur when you reach the nearest buildings.
"Aye," your men agree.
"NOW!"
You dart into a random backstreet while Edward and your men do the same. The guards' commander shouts : "After them!", but after just a few twists and turns you have already lost your pursuers in the labyrinthine city. You sprint towards the port, but get lost a few times. You are the last one to reach the port. Luckily, all of your men (and, most importantly, Edward) have made it.
