New Money, with only a small grove of trees and a tower that gets stuck in shadow half the time, but hard and ambitious where other families have grown soft and complacent. The Ambergris started as factory-owners, before dragging themselves up the hard way. You grew up as a middle-class kid in an upper-class playground, and no-one ever let you forget it. You suffered some hard knocks, but you learnt how to balance good manners and a strong will.
