After Sunday school, as a little kid, you used to fantasize about your confrontation with temptation and how, with the help of your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, you would be able to repel the devil’s mischievous ways. As an adult you’ve learned that the devil was actually a metaphor for our inner demons, our tendency to reject the teachings of the son of God.

What you have witnessed tonight proved you wrong.

As you watch your world crumbling around you, an irrational need to flee takes hold of you. The little girl inside you has waken up. The little girl inside you is still affraid of the dark, the little girl do believes in god but she's terribly frightened by the spawns of Satan. The little girl inside you forces you to abandon the poor Lenora to her dreadful fate.

You run through the halls to your room.

You close the door cowering in your bed, letting the little girl inside you cry of dread.

For a long time you hear nothing apart from your own sobs.

Then: a scratching noise against the wood of the door.

“Sister Vera, please Sister Vera, help me.” It’s Lenora’s voice, she’s crying.

“Sister Vera, let me in, I managed to escape that mad man but I think he’s still looking for me, I can hear him, please open”.

Do you open the door?

Or do you Try and flee through the window?
