Arcadia was a red light station, attached to the larger cornucopia that was Promise. Promise was essentially a massive collection of stations, all connected by beams. It was also the largest collection of black market ships this side of the Milky Way. The mistress who ran Arcadia mostly dealt in fair trade (surprising for the area but true). All of the cargo would be marked for the sex trade, and all would have the proper papers. It was unlikely, however, that the beings on this ship knew where they were headed or what was in store for them. Poor, pretty young things. After the girl had been re-dressed and re-secured, Jaimie went back to the pit to assist Darius in docking. Darius was waiting for them, beginning to set the ship for deceleration. Jaimie strapped in and looked at the older fellow on his left. He wasn’t a bad looking fellow, he had black hair that was beginning to gray at the temples, and startling blue eyes. Darius was smaller stature than Jaimie, but would still be attractive to the ladies. Jaimie had never actually seen Darius with a woman though, and had wondered if maybe the guy was gay. As he thought this, Darius started to speak, not to him but to Arcadia. “Space Station Arcadia, this is Torrid, Cargo Ship 154-993 Alpha. Requesting permission to dock.” There was a brief pause, and then a voice sounded over the intercom, “Cargo Ship Torrid, this is Space Station Arcadia, you have permission to dock. The docking codes are being sent to you now.” Again another pause, and then codes appeared on screen. The station had come into view. Jaimie was always surprised at the sheer size of Promise, a seemingly never ending sprawl of stations and a constant buzz of activity. Many ships, just like theirs, arrived and departed continuously providing buyers and sellers of various goods. It was one of Jaimie’s favorite places to dock, and they were scheduled to stay for several weeks before they started their next shipment. Plenty of time for him and the rest of the crew to do lots of ‘recouping’. He grinned as he thought of the blonde.
