You choose to get an early start in the morning and find out what’s happening in your neck of the woods. You slip into your flip-flops and go bounding down the stairs.

The front door opens and you step outside into a beautiful early morning. The sky is cloudless and blue, the birds are singing, and the last of the overnight chill is giving way to the warmth of the sun. You close your eyes, smile, and inhale deeply through your nose, smelling the clean air.

Across the street, George Jones is gassing up his weed whacker and getting ready to trim his lawn. He’s an older, heavyset retiree with a balding head of white hair. He’s also a widower, a lonely but sweet sort of man who you have always had a soft spot for. He always seems so happy to see you.

George fires up his new weed whacker and starts edging his lawn along the sidewalk. You wave to him, but he’s too engrossed in his task to notice.

The only other people out and about this early are Jason Vaughn and Kaya Markham. They are a younger unmarried couple; he lives two doors down from George. They’re arguing about something in their driveway.

You smile and Jason smiles back. Kaya yells one last thing at Jason before getting in her car and driving off. Jason stands in the driveway, messing with his cell phone.

You casually slide your pajama pants a little bit down your ass. You feel a cold breeze on your partially exposed rear end. Then you bounce out to the end of your driveway to get the paper. You pick it up, being sure to bend over very slowly so Jason or George can see your half-covered rear end if either is looking.
