The Unown seem slightly… off. You slowly identify feelings of nervousness and guilt.

Things haven’t been… well…, Balanced, lately. The reason why Margaret got bored is because We’re restricting Our agents from doing anything or going anywhere.

Why? What happened?

One of Our agents went rogue.

Somehow, you don’t think that’s surprising. Giving the wrong mortal great power can go very wrong if the power-giver isn’t careful.

The Unown elaborated.

We made a mistake. It happens every few millennia or so. Our other agents, Gerard, Margaret, and another named Thomas were… occupied with other tasks, so We were forced to choose another mortal to gift.

What felt like a sigh came over the bond with the Unown.

We were so busy concentrating on the enemy; We didn’t spend as much care on selecting someone as We usually do.

Sounds like a strong enemy.

Yes.

You wait for the Unown to continue, but they seem unwilling to expand on the details of the enemy. You can’t help but wonder why, but decide to move on.
