Anna heads to the shower, while you and Mia sit patiently on her bed. You hear the shower turn on, but it's really far away. You can barely hear it, but you can hear it enough just to tell that it's on. Thinking with this information, you decide to make a move you were never gutsy enough to make in high school: you put your arm around Mia. You feel a bit pathetic you could never do this, but you've long since forgotten those insecurities.
As you put your arm around her, you look over and see her smile. She leans her head up against your shoulder and closes her eyes.
