You walk up to the lake and stop a foot from the water’s edge.
You stretch a moment, and then lower yourself to the ground, keeping your head up, alert for any suspicious activity.
You watch the Pokemon splash about in the water and then hear footsteps behind you. You turn and find two Quagsire looking at you.
“…What brings you to Blue Moon Falls, great Aspect of Monsoons?” One asks.
You think a moment before replying. You figure its best not to mention that anything may be off, and decide to play it cool.
“This is a very nice lake. Its water is quite pure, which is a good change from the many dirty water-beds that exist scattered about the world. I’ve decided to rest here a while.”
To your complement about the lake, they beam proudly.
“You are welcome here.” The other Quagsire says, and the two leave you.
You watch a Buizel and a Quagsire race each other about the pool, when you hear something. Your head flies up to look up the falls and the ground beyond.
You stand and rush into the forest to remain unseen.
All activity stops as the Pokemon notice your quick retreat, then, as the rumbling grows louder, they look up the cliff face. A giant machine stops at the edge just beside the river that forms the Falls. Two men appear beside it.
The wind carries their conversation down.
“Look at ‘em all. There’s plenty of ‘em.” One says, which is answered with a nod. “Don’t know why we had to come here to get water Pokemon. There are plenty of other places to get ‘em.”
“Don’t question the boss’s orders.” The second man walks to the side of the machine and presses a series of buttons. The front of the machine opens up and several ‘arms’ come out. The arms reach to the back of the machine and, with two on each, pick up what looks to be cannons.
You feel a flash of anger as the cannons are aimed towards the lake.
