You decide to climb to the high windows.  The stone walls should afford enough handholds.

You scout around for a good starting point.  You find one you like and get started up the wall.  It's hard going.  Half way up the wall, your arms are starting to ache.  But you keep going.  Then you slip.  Before you know it, you're hanging from the wall by one tired hand.  You scramble for a foothold, but to no avail.  Your fingers continue to slip, and then you fall.  You try to land on your feet, but you land on debris, and your legs twists oddly.  You tumble over the rotten wood and crack your head on the hard flagstones.  That's pretty much the end for you.  If you don't die of head trauma, you'll be a sitting duck for the vampire.
