Blondie takes you through to a large room with large chesterfields in leather arranged around an unlit fireplace. In the middle lies a thick fur rug that must have cost at least a dozen mink or one very large bear. The French windows leading into the garden are open in spite of the rain, letting a breath of cool air into the hot summer night.
'How about a drink?' she asks you.
'I could do with a drink,' you say. And you really could. It's been a long day and you're tired.
She mixes you a scotch and soda and takes one for herself. Then, sweeping across to the chesterfields she sits down on the one facing away from the garden and the open windows.
