You walk over to your Mom who is on the sofa reading a magazine.
"Hi Mom." You say to her as you sit down on the other side of the sofa.
"Hey sweetie. How is school?" She responds not even looking up at you.
"Oh its fine. How is... politics?" You say in an effort to make conversation.
"Not good, a black man made it past the preliminaries."
"... Mom...."
"What? Aren't raciest jokes funny to your generation?"
You shake your head with a blank expression on your face.
"Oh..."
You being to get up off the sofa and walk back into the hall.
"Did you finish all your homework dear?"
"Yes mom."
"THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!" Your mom breaks out into laughter after finishing the sentence.
You now have a worried look on your face. "Please mom... don't try to be funny."
