The white men do not notice you behind them until you are just about to board the ship. Then one of the white men spots you, and decides to come and pick you up and bring you on the ship. This is the most gruesome and disgusting place you have ever seen in your life. It smells horrible, and you see the ribs of many Africans tied to the wall by chains and shackles. This is very scary. You wonder how can people live like this. You are soon also chained to a wall and are scared to death, but less scared because you are put next to your mother. Two months later the same white men walk into the large room you have been staying in the whole time. They start taking the Africans off the ship.
