The MWA (Michigan Wrestling Association) Hardcore Championship is a backyard wrestling hardcore Championship as recognized by the Michigan Wrestling Association. It was first awarded on December 27, 2010 to Skull Jr., who defeated Karnage and John Smith in a triple threat ladder match.
Background
On December 27, 2010, at MWA's second "IMPACT", there were qualifying matches to go to a ladder match later in the night to determine the first MWA Hardcore Champion. John Smith and Skull Jr. qualified, as well as Karnage, who qualified with a loss to Lance Manion in a match for the MWA World Heavyweight Title to determine who was going in champion at the "New Year's Bash" supercard in January. Skull won the ladder match to become the first champion. The MWA Hardcore Title was defended by Skull at the supershow "NBYWA 2: Rivals" against Lance in the first round of a two-round hardcore match. Skull retained. The second round was for Skull's NBYWA World Heavyweight Championship which he lost after Karnage interfered.
