Beginning of his carreer (2007-2008)
In 2007, Chalis founded his own wrestling federation NBW at only 14 year-old. He quickly became the best wrestler of the fed beating all his opponents and was several times champion of NBW. He defeated Avezy and Milkman in January 2008 thanks to impressive signatures moves and won his two matches against Angelo De Rome with submission holds during the same year.
His two main rivals in NBW are Tempset and Baneblade. In 2008, he wrestled five times against Baneblade and won three times. Matches have always been long and violent between the two men and usually finished by K.-O. or submissions. In January 2008, after a long hardcore match, Chalis finally won using a chair as finisher. He emerged once again victorious in April and June 2008 but was defeated by Baneblade in "A new beginning" and "Blood Stained" few days later. However, Chalis' main serious challenger was Tempset. He triumphantly won against Tempset in February, June and July 2008 using a chair as finisher (he got the NBW title) but was eliminated in a hardcore triple match by Tempset. In 'Morning Dash", despite well executed signature moves, he was a second times defeated by him. In NBW, Chalis knew another failure in a triple math against Milkman and Angelo De Rome in October 2008 where he was unable to prevent Angelo's victory.
Over the same year, Chalis also wrestled outside NBW and faced some of the best wrestlers of LCWA. However he was often defeated by very experienced wrestlers. In "Wollongong Bash", he faced LCWA's Benny Slater - a young and very talented wrestler. Despite some impressive moves, Slater's finisher finally knocked him out. In April, he was defeated by MC Cooper who used a submission hold (Wrestle-Riot Day 1). In June and August, he lost again at LCWA against Michael M and Domian Kane dominated by their powerful moves, especially their PowerBombs (LCWA Revenge and LCWA 1 year anniversary). In August 2008, however, in a tag team match with Baneblade, the two wrestlers achieved a great success by winning against MC Cooper and Michael M. In December 2008, Chalis wrestled in Tommy Taboo's XAW against Adam Chunky. The match remained undecided for a long time but his opponent finally won by throwing him on a table.
2009-2010: beginning in IYHWA
In 2009-2010, NBW invited many Australian wrestlers from other federations (LCWA and IYHWA) to participate to big supershows. The rivalry with Tempset and Baneblade became very much stronger but none of them took a serious advantage. If Chalis won with many difficulties against Baneblade in January 2009, Baneblade knocked him out six month later after a very violent match. In May 2009, Chalis lost against Tempset who used a submission hold to finish the match. In 2009, at LCWA, Chalis faced Siege, a powerful Canadian backyard wrestler. The Canadian dominated his opponent throughout the math throwing the Australian all around the field. But Chalis resisted, even to a driver executed on a ladder. Taking advantage of an error from Siege, he did his Power Bomb and won the match. Although he was exhausted, this victory was a great success for Chalis: he won against one of the best backyard wrestler, older than him, by undermining his morale. In July, Chalis faced LCWA's Jonathan Cross; after a long match in which Cross attempted several finishers, Chalis finally won. Some month after, in a contender ladder match, he defeated Adam Chunky flunging his opponent on a table. At the end of the match, he was attacked by Benny Slater, Chunky's wrestling partner. Chalis wrestled in LCWA shows: after being several times dominated by Jonathan Cross, he defeated him a second time in "LCWA Fearless". During the same month, he wrestled against his new main rival Brynx in two intense matches (both Brynx and Chalis won a match). Brynx and Chalis became fierce opponents wrestling several times in 2010. However, Chalis seems to have the advantage over Brynx in terms of matches won. In May 2010, Chalis knocked him out after a hardcore match in which both wrestlers attempted impressive signature moves. He also defeated XWA 's Linny quite easely but lost for the first time against Jonathan Cross totally K.-O in July 2010.
For the first time, Chalis wrestled in IYHWA - the most famous backyard wrestling federation in Australia. He achieved a great success by winning a match against Krusty , Danny Fiasco and Ethan Black in April 2010. In July he faced SCWS' Nightmare. It was one of the best hardcore matches of Chalis. The match remained a long time indecisive between the two wrestlers. Finally, Nightmare took the advantage: he threw his exhausted opponent against the ropes and knocked him out. For the 5 Year Anniversary of XAW, Chalis faced the German wrestler K-Man in 2010. He attempted to execute his favorite finisher but failed. He was defeated after the German did his own PowerBomb.
The year 2011
2011 began by a defeat. In January, representing his federation NBW, Chalis was invited in PHWA for a tournament between PHWA, NBW, TVW and LCWA. He faced Ruthless, a wrestler from PHWA. During the match, Chalis was about to win several times. He countered several Ruthless' signature moves, including his finisher. However, his opponent countered Chalis's finisher as well and executed his finishing move a second time with success. In March, in a short match, he wrestled against Ethan Black. He dominated his opponent quickly and won quite easily. In March 2011, Chalis fought against his greatest adversary Brynx at LCWA (in the show called “Grapscallions”). Brynx tried several holds in the hope of overcoming his opponent but Chalis knocked him out by executing a driver as finisher. In IWAT 5, at a LCWA show which took place in April, Chalis faced MC Cooper, a wrestler against whom he had already wrested in 2008. Chalis tried to do his finisher but his adversary resisted all his attacks. MC Cooper finally won executing his powerful Omega Driver on Chalis, completely K-O. Chalis took his revenge on Nightmare in “Breakdown 3”, a NBW show which took place in June 2011. He resisted all Nightmare’s signature moves, including his powerful driver, and finally won the match thanks to a driver as finisher. It was a great achievement after his defeat at IYHWA in 2010 against the SCWS’ wrestler. Over the same month, Chalis face Ethan Black and Justin Hawks - a new young wrestler at NBW - in a triple match. He easily won taking advantage of the inexperience from the young kid. In August 2011, Chalis took part of the final IYHWA show. He wrestled against Nightmare, Brynx and Ethan Black in an intense match. He used all his best holds during the match and defeated his opponents one by one. He first knocked Brynx out by executing a powerful driver. He then threw Nightmare on a table and executed his ChaliBomb. This was, without any doubt, one of his best matches. While he was not the favorite - it’s almost impossible to win in facing Brynx and Nightmare in the same match - Chalis has showed he could be considered as one of the most talented backyard wrestler in Australia. However, in “Cuntocalypse”, a XAW show in September, Chalis was defeated by Justin Hawks, the new kid of NBW. This match was a huge failure for him. Indeed, although he is five years younger, the young wrestler quickly defeated him and dominated Chalis throughout the match! The fact that Chalis could not do anything was considered as a personal humiliation for Chalis.
Main features
Despite he's only 18 year-old, Chalis has become a very talented wrestler defeating some of the best Australian competitors. He is currently the most decorated wrestler of NBW and his overall record is positive since 2008 (45 matches, 25 victories and 20 defeats). In March 2011, he was ranked 8th best backyard wrestler by the GBYWN website. Chalis is an aggressive wrestler who often uses chairs, ladders or tables in hardcore matches for cutting short difficult matches. His signature moves are often fatal, especially his finisher ChaliBomb he used with success several times (against Brynx, Danny Fiasco, Jonathan Cross, Nightmare...). His well-executed moves permitted him to defeat Brynx (his main LCWA rival), one of the most powerful wrestler, or SCWS’ Nightmare. Against some opponents, however, Chalis' finishers have been countered.
