Then play through all the original cetonnt, then burning crusade, then wrath of the lich king through cataclysm. But the game just seems to start with cataclysm. Can i still play all the old stuff?

Can i still play all the past world of warcraft cetonnt now that cataclysm is out?Im still new to the game, and maybe im misunderstanding how the storyline works on a fundamental level. i want to start at the very beggining of the game.
