History
The Socialist history is long and complicated, laced with blood and destruction. Rising from a small political party, they have now become the most powerful faction on the planet.
Beginnings as a Political Party
The Socialists can be traced back to their hive country of England. Orginally a small but vocal political party in London, the Socialists quickly grew in power and prestige in the capital city, eventually taking political control. England, alarmed at the rapid growth of the party and it's ousting of the majority Greenwichian party from the city, immediately went to political war with the Socialists, as Socialist candidates started popping up in many other cities. The more the party grew, the more divided the country was, making tensions rise to a boiling point.
The Coup
In the year 1 B.C (before coup), chaos had begun. In retalitation for their quick rise, a unidentified radical Greenwichian assassinated the Head Councillor of Manchester along with two of his entourage before being killed by a guardsman. The Socialists launched a full assault against the Greenwich party in several cities in reaction for this. These actions lead to the 2nd English Civil War, where Socialist and Greenwichian supporters brutally fought in bloody urban conflict. The Socialists took the upper hand when an armored Socialist division seized control of the Palace of Westminster, effectively destroying the strength of the once majority party. Seizing control of the government, the Socialists quickly brought order to the country, and brought their leader, Chairman Cervantes, to emperor- like status.
The Ascension
By 3 A.C, England had become the most dominant country in the region under the leadership of Imperator Cervantes. Cervantes then put his plan for regional domination in action. Easily winning the support of the English people, the Socialists launched invasions into France and their neighbor, Ireland. Many other powerful nations, such as Russia, China, and the United States (which was now crumbling under the stress of governmental corruption and a economic landslide) opposed this unforseen attack, trying unsuccesfully to put the failing U.N to work against the radical England. However, as the bureaucracy of the other powers continued, England continued to drive a sharp pike into Western Europe, quickly decimating the French and Spanish armies in a blitzkrieg war.
