UYW Battle for the Belt was a 2008 backyard wrestling supershow event produced by Unbelievable Youth Wrestling (UYW). The show was originally scheduled to take place on November 30, 2008 but due to weather conditions it was post-poned to December 12, 2008 in Buffalo, New York.

The main event was a UYW Championship match between ETTW's Matt Demorest and UYW's Twist, a rivalry that had brewed for months with Twist underestimating Demorest and his abilities, which led to back-and-forth promo videos being broadcasted online in an attempt to mutually ridiculize and imitate one another. Twist would pitch the challenge to Demorest to face him, defending his championship.

Background

The predominant feud heading into Battle for the Belt was between ETTW's Matt Demorest and UYW's Twist, who challenged Demorest to a match with the UYW Championship hanging in the balance. The rivalry ignited when an arrogant Twist began uploading videos online comically imitating Demorest and his demeanor, claiming that Demorest was "overrated", manifesting to want to show Demorest up in defeating him to prove it. Demorest countered with some of his own travesty of Twist. The challenge was set in motion subsequently as Demorest accepted for whenever time.
