The BCW Heavyweight Championship is the second primary championship of Backstream Championship Wrestling, It is the top prize in the federation second only to the BCW World Championship. The title was created after Eric Hinz unifed both the RCW and OCW World titles together after both feds closed their doors.

Origin
The BCW Heavyweight Championship was created on September 5th, 2010 at BCW Back To School Bash Day 1. The main event feautred a five way elimination match between the current OCW Champion Eric Hinz, Molson, Johnny Kayno, David White and RCW World Champion Helio. The match was a unification match due to OCW and RCW closing their doors the coming monday thus the titles were to be unified at moved to BCW. Eric Hinz won the match thus becoming the last RCW and Last OCW World Champion. BCW management decided to make the title into the BCW Heavyweight Championship.
