History
Origination
The title was introduced the week before TKO's Doomsday 2010. Jeff James, who was in the midst of a heated rivalry with former partner Matt Craven (formerly known as The Reaper), realized that the Gulf Coast territory was uncontested, and instantly sought to claim the title. After numerous backstage discussions, the title was sanctioned, but needed to be contested in a match. Jeff James unofficially crowned himself the champion and with utter confidence put it on the line. After a grueling match, Jeff defeated the Reaper and became the first official GBYWN Gulf Coast Heavyweight Champion
Championship Activity
Vowing to be the greatest champion the GBYWN has ever seen, Jeff began promising title shots left and right. Having defended the title against Matt Craven, JohnXCore, Radar, and HaZe. His most notable defense to date was against Radar at ASPW's WrestleF**K, where he defeated Radar in a 2/3 Falls Count Anywhere match.
