one day vadernaraku made a thread titled 100 unwritten rules in anime its still going on right here and has reached 100+ rules heres a compling of the ones that are up so far.

1. in almost every anime as in every disney film, one or both parents are dead (1-3: vadernaraku)
2. the protagonist is always a high school student
3. the enemy always stands in the path of an attack without every moving to the left or the right
4. Main char has Super Powers? (4-6: JQuest15)
5. There are Ninjas?
6. Plenty of giant robots?
7. if you hear a sad song someones going to die (7-9: crushrose)
8. someone always turns out to be a traitor
9. bad guy turns out to be family
10. usually the father is a villain or the distant parent (vadernaraku)
11. There's always someone who has or gets crushed on (love interest)(I_am_Faye)
12. Theres always at least one attractive female character. (12-13: dudeco)
13. Unless the show is a mini series, theres always at least one seperate story arc that takes place in between the canon material

17. Giant robots make everything better.

36. No matter how many heavily-armed mooks the Big Bad sends after the protagonist, they will all be horrid with their weapon of choice and do minimal, if any, damage in the long run. (36-40: Euphamism)
