Hope Bowdler lies 2km south-east of Church Stretton, at the head of a stream, in a small valley through between the Hope Bowdler, and Hazler hills. 2km further is Ticklerton
History
Recorded in Domesday as being held by Helgot. Helgot is a mystery. Most likely related to Elligot, ancestor of the Elliot family, but there is no hard evidence of his origin or his descendants. He was an under-tenant to Earl Roger in Shropshire.
