Situation
The Home faces across the East Onny river, Warren Flu to Hardwick, 1 km away. It lies on low gentle ground, with a stream running past it on the east side. It is about 3km south of Wentnor.
History
Originally Hamme, (a low lying enclosure or water meadow). In 1246 Thomas Corbet applied for a 'free warren' (the right to preserve small game such as rabbits for hunting in a defined area), but was denied on the grounds that The Home and [Medlicott]] were within the King's Forest, where hunting was a royal preserve.
