Mathematical Mark-up

The host has enabled mathematical mark-up, for editing pages, however, they have decided not to use the standard mark-up language. The details can be found here:

http://www.editthis.info/wiki/index.php?title=Help:Math

One application of this, is that any word that is wrapped in <m></m> tags will appear in a large roman font, such as <m>this</m>. You cannot simply wrap a sentence in these tags, as all spaces will be removed; instead you must wrap each word in tags, and leave spaces between the tagged words. e.g. <m>a</m> <m>simple</m> <m>example</m> : <m>a</m> <m>simple</m> <m>example</m>

Adding images

We can now host our own images via the 'Upload File' function in the 'toolbox' on the left of the screen. We have five megabytes of storage per external link to our wiki page. Currently, we have one link, via the Yahoo! Discussion group.

Guidelines

We don't currently have any guidelines for wiki-editing, etc. as we don't appear to need any...

To-do List

  • Make the wiki pages attractive:
  1. The image on the main page is only a place-holder, to be replaced with a pic of the in-character covenant, in it's present condition.
  2. Add covenant name and location to the main page (once decided IC).
  3. Change the name of the Discussion Group to match Covenant name (Perhaps).
  • The Covenant:
  1. Produce a map of the immediate area of the construction site, once the players have spent build points, hooks and boons, and chosen from the locations which fit their criteria. :: Started, but not easy due to lack of a period map.
  • The Library:
  1. Add sections to the book tables in the library, so that the books can be categorised by art.
  2. Organise the books into some sort of spell level and alphabetical order.
  3. Consider moving the book tables in the library to smaller sub pages, as the page is becoming quite long.
  4. Auto-Table_of_Contents and headings is a temporary measure. Remove and replace with the above, or something better.
  5. Properly type up the guidelines regarding document usage from the discussion group posts.
  • The Setting
  1. Add image code to the maps on the Setting page, so that they are reduced, act as links to their own image pages, have superimposed markers, and any other fancy bits from the meta wiki help.
  2. I've taken on a task, as much for my own interest as anything, of providing a bit of a gazeteer of the area, highlighting features that would have been around in-period for the game in the real-world area on which our little bit of mythic Europe is perched. --OldNick 04:51, 16 February 2006 (PST)

This list is constantly being amended. I add things as I think of them. Please help me by adding tasks you think need to be done.

Things-I-can't-do List

  • I have no access to the database, so anything involving .php files is beyond my ability to do. This includes adding wiki-extensions, wiki-interlinks, and a raft of other things that aren't terribly important. However, if there is a particular thing that would really benefit this wiki, then I can mail the host about it, and there's a not unreasonable chance that they may make a change to the .php code if it's something they like the sound of.
  • I cannot edit the bar at the bottom of the page as it is generated by .php code.
  • Add a background image to a table, eg. parchment behind most of the text on this site.
