Bits and Bobs About Marcus
The idea behind Marcus, and where I intend to go with him (game events permitting) is something like this.
Marcus is designed to be a diplomat type and typical out in the world Jerbiton. Free Expression, Social Contacts and his Reputation should get him pretty good access to any local Religious, which can't be bad. Quiet and Subtle Magic mean that he can cast spells unnoticed without too much difficulty. Added to a Rego affinity, and that's quite a decent little ambassador for the Covenant. (His tendency to impersonate a monk might cause problems.)
His (proposed) Travel focus is simply to make it easier for him to, well, travel. I originally had a Weakness for music, since changed since it gave him too many personality flaws, and wanted to have him always popping off to various churches to indulge in it. In fact, I still will, since it's in keeping with his character. Pretty much every Sunday, he'll want to attend Mass and hear the singing. (Heck, most Saturday nights he'll want to find a court somewhere and listen to harpers or troubadors.) So with his Seven League Stride, he can get to a lot of different churches and monasteries.
Immediate goals and such - develop some group versions of the Seven League Stride and remove the dangerousness of the finesse roll, so people can come and listen to music. Develop a few Rego based combat/defensive spells. (An old PBeM character of mine, Severus Hippocratus, developed a spell in 4th Ed called Rain of Flesh, unfortunately a ritual, that just teleported all humans within a boundary about 200 paces straight up. Could kill a lot of people pretty fast if you had time to cast it. Good times.:-)
More intermediate goals - branch out into Imagonem with the intention of capturing and holding onto music to listen to it at will. Yes, I'm planning on spending a reasonable amount of time and vis inventing stereo systems.
