Bio
Clarice is a member of the Blacken Syndicate, her main job seems to be planning, similar to Samson's job. Clarice tends to think Hikki is unfit to be a leader, because he's not very good at planning, and isn't very responsible but follows him anyway. Clarice has feelings for Samson, which was made more apparent in chapter 29.
She was living at her family's house since her home was repossessed with her sister Mimori and her parents. Later she joined Samson in living at the cafe, her main reason was to come along to defend Samson from Hikki's advances since Hikki tends to be more frightened of her than Samson. Clarice originally joined the syndicate to help maybe make working conditions better for herself as she's been unable to find a job since Ozzal made economic conditions so poor. Clarice seems to enjoy relaxing in bubble baths in her spare time and isn't a fan of her sister's cats.
Chapter Guide
Chapter 5: It Happened one night
Clarice's first appearance; she almost immediately shows her disdain of Hikki's leadership skills. During the rescue of Raef Compton from Comdot, she relays orders to the Syndicate at large and monitors the operation.
Clarice comforts Hikki when he breaks down during a Syndicate meeting discussing Samson's capture in Comdot Estate.
Chapter 16: Dragon's Teeth 2, 4
Clarice protects Samson from Hikki's sexual harassment; the two are later captured by Argeno.
Chapter 17: The French Connection
During their confinement in Comdot, Clarice and Samson have a little heart-to-heart chat about their reasons for joining the Syndicate. After they are rescued by Mustang and Havoc, they witness a scene that forever scars them.
Though she doesn't do anything of particular interest, Clarice is in this chapter none-the-less.
Clarice walks in on an awkard moment between Samson and Hikki.
Clarice takes up room and board at the Cafe (mostly to protect Samson from Hikki's unending sexual advances). Later, she and Samson knock out a brainwashed Spice.
Clarice helps Samson move in to the Cafe. Later, Samson kisses her to prove his heterosexuality; but Clarice doesn't remember it the next morning. She also starts tutoring Anne.
Other than the usual antics in the Cafe, Clarice, Samson and Hikki discuss actual Syndicate-related business and meet with the Contractor, Hei. The three also agree to let Jake infiltrate the Order of Glass to uncover more about the group.
Clarice is conflicted after witnessing Hikki taking advantage of Samson (yet again). Samson assures her its nothing serious and promises to protect her.
Though not actually in this chapter, Hikki and Samson have a earnest discussion regarding the latter's growing feelings for the woman.
Worried about Samson's increasingly moody demeanor, Clarice tries to talk some sense into him. Surprised at the amount of concern she has for him, she begins to question if what she feels could be more than friendship. Later, Clarice confronts him about his paranoia regarding Father Sadar.
Clarice helps supervise the admission of Mustang, Emiri, Havoc, and Kira into the Syndicate. Later, DangerCille visits the cafe and tells Clarice and her two cohorts about the downfall of the Syndicate and Landon being evil and stuff.
During the big confrontation in the abandoned mansion, Clarice (together with Samson and Hikki) engages in combat with many Cool Mexicanos red shirts. Once the fighting is over, she seeks out Samson, whom she finds reflecting on his angsting and general jerkiness. She listens to his heartfelt apology and the two share a kiss.
Clarice attends the joint funeral service for the fallen members of the Syndicate.
Chapter 35: Say What You Need to Say
Clarice chats with the other girls in the newly merged Syndicate/Order of Glass.
Chapter 38: Take It Or Leave It
Clarice has to help Hikki cope with the trauma of seeing Ozzal's broadcast (and keep him away from Samson). At the party she hears Sadar's news about Ozzal's army and gives Cille permission to do some studying on Ozzal's past (despite reservations about letting Cille know too much).
