Bio

Angelo is very serious about being respected in the organized crime community and thus is often very businesslike when it comes to dealing with mafia matters. However, despite his best efforts of maintaining a calm, collected and serious persona in front of the rest of the mafia, he has a tendency towards exposing his true nature which is quite flippant and flamboyant. Due to this, he often requests plans carried out be done in a stylish, theatrical manner. (Granted said "mission" could be carried out in such a way..) His manner of speech is such that he tends to use excessively long or complicated words in attempts to impress people into believing he's smarter than he really is in order to earn their respect. He also likes to use flowery language to recall events or describe something. He's also gay.

Due to events in his past, he has a general abhorrence towards women and doesn't trust them very much with few exceptions. Regardless of all his apparent faults, he's actually quite efficient as a leader hence why he was picked to succeed the last.

Backstory

SPOILER WARNING?!?!?! "Angelo" was born into a family already fully immersed in the mafia world. His father was something of a low man on the totem pole of a small time crime family and His mother was just an ordinary woman who happened to be oblivious to his father's job. However, one night when she overheard one of his phone conversations, in an act of morbid curiosity she decided to trail him to one of his jobs. Ultimately, she witnessed him kill a man. Horrified, she ran to the nearest police station and told everything she knew. His father had seen her in the corner of his eye earlier that night while she was following him and called the then barely seven year old Angelo telling him to go stay with "his friend" Leone until he came home. His father never came home that night, nor did his mother. Of everything said during the phone conversation with his father, he recalls nothing except for his father mentioning over and over (quite explicitly) how his mother had betrayed him and Angelo and from this gained his hatred of women. With Leone as his new guardian he was exposed to the mafia lifestyle as Leone was the don of the same crime family his father was part of.

Due to another unfortunate betrayal, Leone was also killed not much later, when Angelo was 11. A raid from a rival mafia family headed by a former member of Leone's mafia left no one alive with the exception of himself.

He was then taken to live with various members of the mafia that killed Leone as they hadn't any other idea what to do with him and figured they could potentially train him to be useful to them. With his new guardians, Angelo learned more and more about the inner workings of organized crime and with every new guardian he was passed around to, his name changed further and further from his original. (This initially began, however, when he first moved in to live with Leone, changing his last name to Bernotti and just continued to change it more and more)

When he was 13, he had finally decided to take revenge and killed his current guardian while they were sleeping and make his escape from the mafia who had taken Leone from him (whom he had thought of as a second father.)

He changed his name once again after leaving as an effort to break all ties with them and go into hiding. For the next 5 years, he lived with an old man named Hector who was apparently formerly involved with the Giamatti crime family, which was fairly well known and respected in the crime underworld. Though the man never said anything about what exactly it was he did with them, Angelo had a hunch that he was at one time either the don or someone of comparable importance. When Hector died (of natural causes) he left Angelo in the care of his son, 50 year old Frank Giamatti who was the current don of the Giamatti mafia. It was then when he had finally become "Angelo Giamatti" and lived fairly normally with Frank and his wife Irene he was accepted as a member of the mafia, but unlike with the other ones he'd been in, there was very little killing and plotting involved. When Angelo was 24, Frank decided that he was getting too old for the mafia business and passed the responsibility as boss on to him.

He's scared of Kira, to be honest. As a criminal, he fears for himself and his fellow mob members. At the same time, he does see Kira's ambitions as honourable and would probably do the same given the chance.

He leaves Ahren to keep an eye on them as he goes to contact his father.
