Bio
Hikki Follet is a French baker who presumably came to Actionia from France to pursue a career at a bakery. He found work in Cafe de Lune owned by Luna Monegossde. Hikki is apparently rather skilled with his baking and thinks very highly of his skills. He usually wears his hair in a ponytail which is tied with a large bow. He has one outfit he wears exclusively for dealing with syndicate matters, which is a black outfit complete with a matching beret( a military styled type). Hikki is also clearly homosexual and makes advances on any man he finds to be attractive whether or not the situation calls for it. He dislikes being cut off while he's talking, women who interfere with men he's interested in and instant food. No one is quite sure why Hikki has such a high standing position in the syndicate, especially since he's pretty irresponsible and prone to making decisions on the spur of the moment. Hikki is now the owner of Cafe de Lune after Luna left it to him when she departed from Orly suddenly. He renamed the cafe Cafe de l'Argeno, after his deceased lover. Hikki has only overseen one successful mission as the replacement head of the syndicate in Landon's absence and isn't very well respected by the other members.
Hikki's main romantic interests are Argeno and Samson Monroe. Van and Hikki seem to have had some kind of relationship prior to the story actually taking place although it's not really clear. Never the less, the two have known each other for at least 2 years or so. Hikki loved Van more than anyone else, and was kind of childish about his infatuation with him, saying that he'd asked Van to marry him numerous times. In chapter 17, it was implied that Van and Hikki had sex, although it was never really said explicitly. Van was killed shortly after this. Despite this, Hikki still continued to flirt with Samson while Van was still alive. After Van's death, Hikki saw Samson as something of a replacement for him. Hikki's advances on Samson could be considered quite relentless as he never misses an opportunity to try and make a move on him. These advances usually include being overly close or making excessive psychical contact with Samson.
Hikki even arranged it so that Samson and himself would sleep in the same room when Samson came to live at the cafe, although it was later said in Chapter 29 that Hikki made this arrangement to prevent Samson from doing something he would regret, probably referring to something involving Clarice. Hikki seems to need to have someone to latch onto and since the death of Van, even more so. Unfortunately for Samson, he seems to be the person who Hikki has chosen for the time being. For hobbies Hikki enjoys cooking, sewing, reading and flirting with men who he finds attractive. He doesn't like cats and his favourite food is Cr¨me caramel (flan).
Chapter Guide
This is the first chapter in which Hikki appears. He is yelled at by Van for not paying attention to his baking and fabricates a plan to rescue the captives from Comdot.
Chapter 3: Between a Man and a Woman
And this, is the first chapter where Hikki tried to pick up a guy who's clearly not interested. Hikki flirts with Heero when him and his wife show up at Trunks' pub. Hikki then gets his life threatened by the wife, Riza. He later hires the two as snipers.
Chapter 5: It Happened One Night
Hikki first meets Samson and Clarice. Hikki also oversees the raid on Comdot with them. It's revealed in this chapter that Hikki tends to be reckless with orders and somewhat cold when it comes to the deaths of syndicate members whom he's not overly familiar with.
Hikki makes croissants.
Hikki yells at Angel.
Hikki let's the snipers join the syndicate and Creme sends people to come after him in Trunks' pub. Luckily Heero and Riza save the day.
Hikki is insulted by Keith.
This is the first chapter in which Hikki displays that he cares about Samson more than the average friend or syndicate member. He sobs about his capture and makes arrangements for the funeral of Heero and Riza.
Chapter 14: We Didn't Start the Fire
Hikki kisses Samson.
Hikki assualts Samson with his advances and finds out that Argeno is someone he might have to call an enemy.
Chapter 17: The French Connection
Hikki is depressed about finding out Van is against him and would be so heartless as to capture them for Ozzal. He explains their relationship to Samson and Clarice and hits on Samson some more. Later, when he has to negotiate the release of himself and his friends, Van and Hikki's conversation quickly turns to the matter of themselves and their relationship, which is finally resolved when Van admits his love for Hikki. The two have sex and are barged in on by Havoc, Roy, Clarice and Samson. Hikki's world is shaken when not shortly after, Van is killed by Ozzal's guards. Cue The Melancholy of Hikki Follet which lasts for only a few chapters and brings Hikki to want Samson more than he did.
Luna departs from Orly suddenly and leaves her cafe to Hikki. She mentions in her note to protect Cille and her family, With Cille dying in this chapter, Hikki finds that everything seems to be falling on on him, Van is gone, Luna is gone, and Cille, whose safety Luna entrusted to him is gone as well, sinking his depression further.
To help lessen Hikki's state of depression Samson allows Hikki to "cop a feel" which is an offer Hikki takes full advantage of and then some. Break in Hikki's melancholy.
Chapter 23: When It Hits the Fan
Hikki is informed that Landon has returned and calls the syndicate to gather at the bakery. He also agrees to let Jake Thompson stay at the cafe with him provided he helps out around the kitchen.
Hikki allows Samson, his sister, and Clarice to stay at the cafe with him as well, the cafe which he'd recently decided to rename "Le Cafe de l'Argeno" after his decased lover, Van. He agrees after working out an agreement that Samson sleeps in the same room as him.
Hikki tries to get Samson's clothes off, invades Samson's dreams with his fluffy pink robe and meets a man that reminds him of his beloved Van.
Hikki tries to sexually assault an innocent man named Dominic who happens to look stunningly like Samson. He also gives Samson a new nickname "Chu" and shows off his fabulous pink robe. Later he displays his detest for instant ramen and throughout a good portion of the chapter actually discusses syndicate matters for a change.
Hikki invades Samson's dreams again and gives him "CPR".
Samson comes to Hikki with his feelings for Clarice and Hikki tells him to tell her how he feels.
Hikki doesn't do much in this chapter but he's there none the less.
Hikki tries to slap the jerk outta Samson.
Hikki is super-freaked out about his cafe getting blown up by Mustang, but relieves some tension by smacking both Mustang and Emiri with his white glove. He then approves their admission into the Syndicate. Later he is only slightly less freaked out when DangerCille comes to tell him and Samson and Clarice about the future (in which several Syndicate members die and the rebellion is doomed) and their leader Landon being evil.
Hikki calls a meeting in an abandoned manor, only for it to break out into all out war between the Cool Mexicanos and the Syndicate. Hikki goes rambo on some bad guys after they harm his beloved Samson and after the passing of Landon Hikki becomes the leader of the Blacken Syndicate.
Hikki follows Aoi to an abandoned bunker and contemplates whether or not to make it the new base of operations for the Syndicate.
Chapter 35: Say What You Need to Say
Hikki finds a new erm, friend in Van's cousin, Lloyd Asplund only to have their meeting interrupted by a rowdy bunch of hooligans otherwise known as the gang from the GAR bar. He gets angry and yells at their leader Kamina after they destroy part of his cafe. (Poor cafe) But agrees to have a meeting with them after hearing that their group wishes to help fend off the invasion.
Chapter 36:...And then that happened
Hikki and Lloyd take a weekend vacation and maybe rush into a part in their relationship without thinking.
Hikki is super-mega-freaked out after Ozzal has publicly identified him as "Anti-Citizen One" and instructed the citizens of Orly to turn over any information they have about him. Clarice and Samson try to calm him down with tea, and later that night Angel provides some French wine and cheese to help him unwind at her party. That doesn't stop him from arguing with Holland about the proper way to tie a cravat, though.
Hikki overhears Samson proposing to Clarice, and is pretty tore up about it. Two months later, Ozzal's army finally descends upon the Syndicate, and Hikki and Samson pilot their Knightmare together on the battlefield. Despite an occasional lack of coordination, they are able to fend off an attack by Bismarck, but Samson is critically injured and must be brought back to the base for emergency treatment. When Lloyd is more upset over the damage to his mechs than Samson's life, Hikki dumps him. He then returns to the battlefield to save Cid and Proof, and soundly defeats both Bismarck and Kallen. Back at the base he and Clarice comfort each other as they watch Samson's weak body cling to life.
