Chapter 17: The French Connection
Mustang faces down Emiri in the park and realizes that she carries the pain of having killed people just as he does, and that killing her will do nothing to bring back his lost fiancee. Having (mostly) come to terms with her, he returns to the cafe to join the Syndicate and is welcomed with a bitchslap from Hikki's white glove for blowing up his cafe.

Mustang's intentions to finally get it on with Angel are thwarted when she reveals that she was intimately involved with Riza prior to her death.
