The Moon and Mars: co-operation witht he Soviets
- In 1972 the Germans constructed a Moon Base on Luna.
- in 1990 the Germans launched a Mars explorer from the Moon, and established a Mars base in 1997.
- In 2006, under the Treaty of Voskhod, Grossdeutschland and the USSR agreed to co-operate on the terraforming of Mars. THey commenced the plan in 2011, and it was completed in 2023.
Further exploration and conflict
- In 2149 they sent a small FTL ship to New Iowa in the Griffin system.
- In 2151 they sent an FTL colony ship, the Seevogel to the Chimera System, hoping to colonise what was to become New Ukraine. This ship was suprised by the presence of the Alexander Nevsky, a Russian FTL gunship that the USSR had sent to claim the planet. The engagement was a disaster for the Germans, and the Seevogel limped to the second habitable planet in the system, which was to become New Rhineland.
- In 2151, the Battle of New Ukraine cemented the status quo in the Chimera system.
