Flan's columns tended to be long-winded recaps of forum events, with occasional bits of random humor, Snicket-like hints at Flan's fictionalized sinister past, and badly photoshopped images of Stephen Colbert thrown in. The Subjective Flaneur, known as "Flan" or "Subby" for short, was an anonymous columnist for The 667er whose identity everyone really should have guessed by now. Whoever she was, she seemed to be either a very opinionated and well-informed lurker(though she occasionally made clearly wrong guesses about events and motivations) or an older member impersonating the stereotype of such a lurker.

[edit] Columns

Flan's columns tended to be long-winded recaps of forum events, with occasional bits of random humor, Snicket-like hints at Flan's fictionalized sinister past, and badly photoshopped images of Stephen Colbert thrown in. They often accurately reflected the content and emotional tone of the forum itself, but with better spelling. Flan criticized many prominent members, often those whom other people happened to be criticizing, such as Tragedy, Edwin, and the so-called Plastics. Unlike most of the 667er's columnists, she criticized her "Kind Editor" now and then, but he seemed willing to keep her around, as apparently not posting gave her plenty of spare time to reliably write a weekly column. She was active from approximately February to August 2006, and then either died or went to school, returning from this hiatus only to write an untitled fairy tale which bore no resemblance at all to the ascension and regime of All Due Respect.

[edit] Trivia

-Flan is a fictional character. She pointed this out in a lot of her later columns, hinting that she had been enslaved as a journalist by her "creator". It was not clear how anyone was supposed to free her; perhaps by writing her into a different story.

-She is known to conceal her face and perhaps most of her body in long veils, which may have something to do with her associating with editor Akbar Le Grey.

-According to a work of fiction, the Flaneur is said to be in love with He. Then again, the same author also claims that they died in a fire.

-Everyone on 667 probably knows her identity, really, but are just unwilling to spoil the fun for those who may not have guessed yet.
