I like the link and find it amusing in that it was the first to come up when you searched information please. I love the giant cover of the book, it adds something to the page. I think that the site that connects to Mark Poster is also a good idea and will help people who want to know a little bit more about the man behind the book. I added information concerning copyright and filesharing. I'll take any comments as well as any changes that any one would like to make.

Hey group, look through your sections and add more key terms.  I think that would be helpful to the main purpose of this wiki: to have a guide for reading in order to understand the book better.  Otherwise, things are coming along nicely.  Good work group!

I added two terms so far... global media and mediascape. They are both closely related. Do yall think I should put them together in a description.

If they mean practically the same thing, it should be ok to put them together.

There is a sweet little link that I added to the introduction. It is really funny and it was the first thing that came up when I google searched "Information Please Poster". YES!

The part about Posters views on technology. I am not exactly sure what is supposed to be here. I added a bit about why Poster claims he wrote the book and his purpose behind doing so.

I added a little more to the digital commodities in everyday life. let me know what u think. Alex

I added a section about the evil Bert Laden because it was discussed in class and it was a good example about how the internet allows interaction between cultures. ~Samantha

I added a lot to the second section and a couple of links. If anyone is interested in analyzing the Poster interview further in the intro it may help.

      • We need more content on the different parts of the book. Anyone have any brilliant ideas? -- Okay. I added some content to the section about Poster and his views on Technology. I also added a link to the defintion of Mediascape in my part on key terms. -Pamela

So in this section I added a little bit to the introduction and set up the discussion on the Evil Bert Laden. I also added a piece on Poster and his views of technology at the end to kind of wrap it up. -Pamela

[edit] Digital Commodities...

I really wanted to included file sharing and everything it entails into the wiki, so I wrote a piece on that and concluded that he's a technological determinist... algo added a few interesting looks. Oh, I also proofread and fixed some minor grammar/spelling mistakes. I hope you guys liked the layout I made for the wiki (picture on the left, bla bla...). -Margui
