First Paragraphs

From Doctor Whom

(Redirected from First paragraphs)

This is a guide to what should be put in the first paragraph of each story article, above the actual story.

Type of Story

You must put what type of story you are writing, e.g.

  • Novel
  • Short story
  • Script (i.e. TV script)
  • Playscript
  • One-Word-Each (this is when one user posts a word, then the next user posts a word, etc.)
  • One-Sentence-Each (the same, but with sentences)

You can also put a combination of these, e.g. One-Word-Each Script.

The Doctor and Companions

Except in One-Word-Each or One-Sentence-Each, show the Doctor and companions like these examples:

This novel features the Tenth Doctor and Rose, who are between The Idiot's Lantern and The Impossible Planet.
This script features Sarah, who is between Invasion of the Bane and Revenge of the Slitheen.
This short story features the First Doctor, Ian, Barbara, and Susan, who are between Marco Polo and The Keys of Marinus; and the Ninth Doctor, Rose, and Captain Jack, who are between The Doctor Dances and Boom Town.

If the story is part of a series, the Doctor and Companions will be shown on the page for that series, and not on the story. Then, the sentence on the story will look like this:

This playscript is the third in the Time Chess series.

Optional Parts

You can also include:

  • Time (either as a date, or in relation to another adventure)
  • Location
  • Enemy
  • Other characters.
